i just saw "millions" this weekend and i was really impressed. i loved the message, the characters and the delivery. to me it was really beautiful - go see it!
in other news i just ordered a powerbook and it should be here this week. for those of you that know me well, this might be shocking news. for those of you that know me really well, its probably not so shocking. i was raised on amigas - the amiga 500 and 1000. at the time, audio and graphics applications were very advanced. the operating system was loaded in ram, which made the computer extremely fast. then we switched to the mac classic, which in my opinion was a ridiculous step backwards, but for some reason to apple it was a revolution. while still using the amiga, we made do with the mac and tinkered with it, but i still have nightmares about the freakin' bomb that you could just 'feel' about to happen. fast forward many years, many apple OS upgrades, many mac upgrades and nothing had really changed. i departed the mac during the OS 9 days when i couldn't handle the instability anymore, and have been a PC user every since. that's not to say i haven't had problems, but my software experience (hardware is another story) has been a pleasant and productive one. then apple released OS X and in my opinion nailed it - built on unix with the outstanding gui from apple engineers, i knew it was awesome. now it comes time for me to get a notebook, and i just couldn't find a pc notebook that was small enough yet still powerful. so after making some software lists, i'm (somewhat) making the switch and we'll see how it goes.
how's that for an extremely interesting post? maybe some nerds out there will get something out of it...
powerbook and millions
