love movies

today i saw 'wedding crashers' and 'march of the penguins.' although they were both love stories, i enjoyed that latter more. maybe its because i love penguins, but for some reason the love was more believable in that film. those awesome beings show so much trust, determination, focus, will and care. so much love! take some time to go see it, its a great film.

there was a quick teaser for 'the goblet of fire', which is pretty exciting. i finished 'the half-blood prince' and thought it was pretty good... i enjoyed it much more than the last book in the series. for some reason this one seemed like 90% exposition, and as usual finished with a countless number of significant events in a mad run of action.

i'm really excited to begin craig thompson's 'blankets.' i think it would have been a tear festival if i attempted it a couple months ago, but i think i'm in the right frame of mind to absorb it now.

i've also moved all my gear into the practice studio (as did nick) and i jammed with marlin (drummer) for a few hours. man was that ever refreshing... its great to be able to play loud again, and i can't wait to write and gig around here. the opportunities and reception seem ripe. i'll try to get a couple photos of the studio up soon.
